Work Ready

Georgia Work Ready

Georgia Work Ready, a program launched by Gov. Sonny Perdue in August 2006 in partnership with the Georgia Chamber of Commerce, is designed to build the nation’s best workforce and ensure Georgia companies have the talent they need to stay ahead of the competition. The Georgia Work Ready program is built on four core elements:

  • Work Ready Certificate for Georgia Job Seekers
  • Work Ready Job Profiles for Georgia Employers
  • Certified Work Ready Communities
  • Work Ready Regions

Georgia Work Ready is available at no cost for companies meeting minimum hiring requirements and is easy to access through the state's network of technical colleges. Georgia companies can implement Work Ready in two ways - through job profiling and Work Ready Certificates.  By investing in the Work Ready program, companies can reap the following rewards:

  • Improved hiring procedures
  • Reduced turnover
  • Reduced training costs
  • Increased productivity
  • Higher employee morale
