Workforce Development Summit

The Greater Macon Chamber of Commerce Workforce Development and Existing Industry Committees and the Macon Economic Development Commission hosted  The 2012 Regional Workforce Development Summit on Tuesday May 29, 2012 at Central Georgia Technical College. The featured speaker was Georgia Department of Labor Commissioner Mark Butler.

Governor Deal’s vision of workforce development and the Go Build Georgia Program” was presented by Tricia Pridemore, Executive Director of Governor’s Office of Workforce Development.

Hank Griffeth of Central Georgia Technical College unveiled their new “Advanced Manufacturing Program.”

 

Description: Central GA Hlth Sys Logo 2945cvDescription: MEDC LogoDescription: logo[1]Description: chamber_72dpi_2007Matt Poyner, Regional Coordinator for the Georgia Department of Labor and Patrick Topping, Senior Vice President of the Macon Economic Development Commission presented the results of the “2011 Existing Industry Survey.” The survey, conducted in 2011 with 105 Middle Georgia businesses provided a picture of industry strengths, weaknesses, concerns, and opportunities.

 

The Summit was sponsored by the Greater Macon Chamber of Commerce, Central Georgia Health System, Macon-Bibb Workforce Investment Board, Macon Economic Development Commission, the Hemlock Pain Center and Central Georgia Technical College.
