Freudenberg Texbond President and CEO takes on new role

as President & CEO of Freudenberg Politex

 

MACON, GA- Richard Shaw, President & CEO of Freudenberg Texbond – Macon, Georgia will be leaving the Macon area to take on the role of President & CEO of Freudenberg Politex(Parent Company of Freudenberg Texbond).

Richard and his wife Lynne, along with two daughters, Abbigale (10) & Caroline (8) will move to Como, Italy in July. After a transition period, including full immersion in the Italian language, Richard will begin his new role on October 1, 2011.

“At this time I would like to acknowledge the support received from MEDC and MBCIA over the years which have helped Texbond prosper. Also to the loyal associates at Texbond, who have contributed to our success,” said Shaw.

Kevin Burnette will replace Richard in Macon. He and his wife Consuelo will relocate from Concord NC.

“We congratulate Richard and his family on this well deserved promotion,” states Mike Dyer, Chairman of MEDC. “Richard has done an admirable job here in Macon and his departure is bittersweet, but Lake Como is not bad duty,” continues Dyer.

Freudenberg Politex is a multinational company with its headquarters in Italy at Novedrate (Como). The Group's core business is the production of polyester nonwovens, made using both staple and spunbonded technology.

Freudenberg Politex is world leader in the Roofing sector, where nonwovens are sold as reinforcement for bituminous waterproofing membranes. Over the years, cutting-edge technology and continuous research have allowed Freudenberg Politex to develop a broad new range of products for the construction industry (Building Materials): waterproofing, thermal insulation, soundproofing and products for numerous other applications. Completing the Group's product offering are Voluminous Nonwovens used as padding in the furniture and clothing industries. At most sites, the production process is integrated upstream, with polyester produced internally from recycled PET bottles.

Freudenberg Politex belongs to the Freudenberg Group (Weinheim, Germany), which comprises 14 Business Groups operating independently and active all over the world in different sectors.Freudenberg Texbond employs 120 at their 60 acre, 350,000 sq. ft. facility in Allied Industrial Park.
