Kumho Tire Grand Opening: Today Macon Georgia welcomed Kumho Tire’s first US tire plant

Governor Nathan Deal, state, local and US Representatives attended the Grand Opening today of Kumho Tire’s 1 million square foot plant. Kumho plans to produce 4 million passenger and light truck tires a year, at this, its first tire manufacturing plant out side Asia.

“I express my deep appreciation for welcoming Kumho to Georgia,” said Park Sam-gu, the chairman of Kumho Asiana Group. He thanked state and local officials “for their unwavering support. ... We will always be mindful of giving back to the community. ... Our main objective is to be a beautiful company ... and create jobs.”
