Macon-Bibb County welcomes Aspen Products

Macon, GA - Aspen Products, Inc. announced today that they will locate a paper products manufacturing plant in Macon, GA.  The Kansas City, MO privately held company has signed a long term lease on a 200,000 sq. ft. facility in the Airport Industrial Park.   Aspen Products, Inc. will invest $13 million in the facility, employing 204.  Production will begin early 2014.

Shannon Walls, Plant Manager, East Coast Division, Aspen Products, stated that “I believe Macon to be a perfect fit for Aspen Products and everyone from our team that has been a part of this project has shared the same sentiment.”
Dan Stubbs, Binswanger, assisted Aspen Products with their building search.  Aspen Products considered other buildings in Georgia as well as an expansion at one of their other locations.

Aspen Products has been a major supplier of white paper plates, design plates, cups, bowls and lunch bags for over 30 years. Their success has been because of innovation in product mix, package design and value in disposable tabletop. All of their products meet or exceed the quality of the national brands as established in guidelines from the FDA.

Aspen Products strives to maintain the highest service levels in the industry to all customers in Private Label, Consumer Retail, and Food Service throughout the United States.

Albert Edge, Murphey, Taylor and Ellis, represented the owner of the building.  Georgia Department of Economic Development project managers, Annie Baxter and Walt Farrell, along with Lonny Smallwood, Electric Cities of Georgia led the state team.
