2012 Middle Georgia Regional Business & Industry Summit
Retired Maj. Gen. Robert McMahon said at a gathering in Macon on Tuesday there was a lot to learn from the Georgia Bulldogs of the University of Georgia.
McMahon was the keynote speaker at the 2012 Middle Georgia Business & Industry Summit held at Central Georgia Technical College.
The Bulldogs had a clear vision of what they wanted to achieve, they played with passion that “has not been their forte of recent seasons” and “perhaps most important, ... it was team play that got them to Atlanta this year and put them in the position of being five yards and 5 seconds short of playing for the national championship.”
McMahon drew a comparison between the Bulldogs and the mission of attendees at the summit.
“We need to ask ourselves, do we have a clear vision of what a growing business and the economy of Middle Georgia needs and what it really looks like,” he said. Not growing business in my city or in my county, but growing business in Middle Georgia and finding a way to achieve collectively the success that we need to get.”
The summit was organized by the Macon Economic Development Commission and the Greater Macon Chamber of Commerce. It was attended by about 150 people from around the midstate.
