The Macon Economic Development Commission (MEDC) is a public-private partnership funded by the Greater Macon Chamber of Commerce and the Macon-Bibb County Industrial Authority.  MEDC focusses on

    Business Retention and Expansion
    Workforce Development and
    Entrepreneurship/Small Business growth   

MEDC was formed in 1992 as the marketing arm of the Greater Macon Chamber of Commerce.  Since 2004, MEDC has collaborated with the Macon-Bibb County Industrial Authority, Macon-Bibb County, the Macon Water Authority, the Bibb County Board of Education, and other partners to create more than 12,000 direct and indirect jobs in Macon-Bibb and more than $59 million in annual payroll, and to generate more than $1.6 billion in new investment in buildings and machinery. The team has assisted 93 new and existing companies to locate and expand.
